Students will remain at the JBS Centre while we give the school time to fully air out. The cause of the earlier situation has been addressed; we just want to ensure students are not exposed to any lingering smoke or odour.
At this time, please do not go to the JBS Centre to pick up your student. Transportation will run as normal, with all student pick-ups taking place at the Brooks Junior High School at the end of the school day as part of a regular dismissal.
Please note that there will be no extracurricular activities in the Brooks Junior High gymnasium after school today.
Tomorrow will be a regularly scheduled school day.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, as the safety of our students and staff is always a top priority.

As a precaution, we have temporarily evacuated the building and followed all emergency procedures. Students and staff have been safely relocated to the JBS Centre while the Brooks Fire Department conducts a full assessment of the school.
We want to reassure you that all students and staff are safe. We are grateful for how calmly and responsibly everyone responded, and we extend our thanks to the Brooks Fire Department for their quick support.
We ask that parents not come to the JBS Centre at this time as we are determining whether students will be returning to the school shortly.
As we receive more information, we will keep you informed.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

No School - November 10 & 11: Just a reminder that Monday, November 10th is a non-operational day and Tuesday, November 11th is a statutory holiday for Remembrance Day.
There will be no school on both days.
We encourage our school communities to take time to reflect and remember, and we will see you all back on Wednesday.
Rachelle brings a strong connection to the Tilley community and a lifelong appreciation for rural education. A graduate of Tilley School herself, she’s now experiencing the full circle of watching her two children attend the same school.
She has a background in office administration and leadership, with experience across retail, service, and coordination roles. Rachelle is passionate about representing rural schools, strengthening communication, and ensuring all students have access to meaningful learning opportunities.
We’re excited to have Rachelle join the Board and look forward to the insight, energy, and community spirit she will bring to her role.

Grasslands Public Schools would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Trustee Braden Schroeder, who has completed his term on the Board of Trustees and did not seek re-election.
As a former Grasslands student and now a proud rural parent, business owner, and community leader, Braden brought an important voice to the Board. We are grateful for the time, energy, and care he invested in supporting students and families across our division.
Please join us in thanking Braden for his service and wishing him all the best!
