2025 School Board Trustee Election

Are you passionate about public education and ready to make a difference in your community? Grasslands Public Schools is inviting nominations for the 2025 Board of Trustee Election. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to student success and help shape the future of education across our division.

🗓️ Key Dates:

  • Nomination Period: January 1 – September 22, 2025

  • Nomination Deadline: September 22, 2025, by 12:00 p.m. at Grasslands Central Office

  • Election Day: Monday, October 20, 2025

Nomination packages are now available. All required forms must be completed and submitted before the deadline.

What Does a Trustee Do?

School board trustees play a vital governance role. While they do not manage daily operations, trustees help set the strategic direction for the division and ensure that decisions reflect the values and priorities of the community. Their responsibilities include:

  • Setting goals to support student success

  • Overseeing the school division’s budget and financial planning

  • Developing and maintaining policies

  • Advocating for public education at the local and provincial levels

  • Connecting with community members and stakeholders

Trustees are elected to represent the interests of the entire school division—not just a specific community or school—and are expected to keep a broad, student-centered perspective.
