Duchess VP

We are pleased to welcome Kirby Stensrud as the new Vice Principal of Duchess School at the start of the 2025-2026 School Year.

Kirby brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as Principal of Jenner School for the past eight years. She holds a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Lethbridge and received her Leadership Quality Standard certification in 2019.

With 15 years of teaching experience spanning Kindergarten to Grade 10, Kirby is recognized for her inclusive, student-centered approach. Throughout her career, she has supported English as an Additional Language learners and students with complex needs. Her commitment to excellence was acknowledged early on when she received the Edwin Parr Award in her first year of teaching.

Kirby is passionate about creating high-quality learning environments and has led the implementation of a wide range of CTF modules in rural settings, giving students hands-on exposure to diverse career pathways.

Much of my experience and training has been focused on the immense passion I have for leadership and building resilience in children.
