Value Management Meeting
The future accommodation of students in Brooks was the focus of discussion between Alberta Education, Alberta Infrastructure, and representatives from Grasslands and Christ the Redeemer School Divisions. Between April 21 and 23, 2010, a Value Management process was undertaken in order to identify and evaluate options that would accommodate enrolment challenges and address the facility conditions of existing schools. The feasibility of transferring the Central School building and site to Christ the Redeemer School Division in exchange for a new elementary school for Grasslands Division was explored. A report on this desired alternative will be released in the coming months and will be considered by the two school boards as they plan for the next three to five years.
School Openings
Official School Opening Ceremonies to celebrate the completion of Bassano and Duchess School Modernizations will be held on May 19th, 2010. Bassano will be hosting their event starting at 8:00 a.m. with a community breakfast and Duchess will host a community BBQ starting at 4:30 p.m. They will also have their annual plant sale at this time.
