Links |
Engaging an Entire Community of Learners!Grasslands Public Schools is excited to introduce its AISI Cycle IV Project titled "Engaging an Entire Community of Learners". Building on the collaborative successes of AISI Cycle III's "Focus On Learning, Achievement, and Citizenship" project, Grasslands teachers and administrators will be enabled to increase teaching effectiveness through the continuation of division-wide learning teams and the addition of in-class professional development opportunities. Cycle IV also introduces Andy Cunningham as our Eduactional Technologist. Andy will help groups and individual teachers infuse technology into engaging learning opportunities for all students. The AISI Learning Team calendar will be posted on this website and distributed to schools in mid-September, and will list the three half-day learning team meetings for each learning team group. Unless otherwise posted, these meetings will occur at Sunrise School. Morning meetings will be held from 9am until 11:30am and afternoon meetings will be scheduled from 1pm until 3:30pm. Have a GREAT YEAR everyone!

Cycle IV FAQ | ||||
|
1. Will teachers still meet three half days per year for division-wide meetings? YES. Division-wide learning team meetings will still be scheduled through the school year to allow teachers to collaborate, share resources, discuss potential solutions to pressing problems, and inform each others practices. 2. What are the biggest differences between AISI Cycle III and IV? Within Cycle IV, teachers can now access a dedicated educational technologist to provide in-class assistance to more effectively infuse technology into their lessons. Because of this additional investment with in-class PD, Cycle IV will provide less financial support for other professional development activities than was available in Cycle III. 3. I teach more than one subject area and would like to participate in more than one division-wide learning team. What should I do? Talk to your school administrator. Substitute coverage proved to be challenging in Cycle III, so teachers must be conscientious with their decision. If some cases, options may be available to teachers to participate in more than one division-wide learning team. 4. I have more questions. Who should I contact? Linda.andres@grasslands.ab.ca Leonard.sproule@grasslands.ab.ca Andy.cunningham@grasslands.ab.ca We can be reached at (403) 793-6700. |
