BOARD BITS for September

The Grasslands Board of Education would like to welcome our students, staff and parents back to school for what we hope will be an exciting year full of “learning…achieving…succeeding”. A very special welcome goes out to those of you who are new to our jurisdiction.

We would like to remind everyone that school trustee elections take place on October 18, 2010. As a community, ensuring our young people become well-educated and well-rounded citizens is one of the most important things we can do. Because school board policies and decisions directly impact the education and development of the children in our communities, having good trustee candidates in this upcoming election is critical.

The date to file nomination papers is September 20, 2010. Nomination packages are available at our central office and on our website at www.grasslands.ab.ca. Trustees are also available to speak about trusteeship. Please call our central office at 403-793-6700 if you need more information.
